29 weeks and Family Shower

So, last weekend my mom was in town and we went to Spartanburg for one of my showers. My sister-in-law, Katie, my aunt, Judy, and my cousin's wife, Libby hosted the shower last Saturday afternoon. It was so nice to see everyone and get the family together! I am glad that it was low key and small. I think we all has such a great time visiting with each other. Thanks to everyone for all of my wonderful gifts!

4th of July at Sullivans

I am a little behind in posting! 2 weeks ago was fourth of July and we took a really quick trip to Sullivans Island. I wish we could have stayed all weekend but LJ and I were determined to get somethings done in the nursery. While in Sullivans we went to the beach and grilled out with Meredith and Jason. I don't think LJ and I left the house/beach all weekend.

We got back late Saturday night and spent Sunday working around the house and Monday LJ and Lee worked on the nursery. We have decided to go with the easy and inexpensive fix. We had torn down a built-in about 1 year ago and hadn't fixed it so we decided to just match the existing paneling. Fortunately for LJ, Lee came over Monday to help and they got all the new paneling up!

27 weeks and Double Baby Shower at Home

This past weekend I got to go home to Arkansas for mine and my sister, Sarah's double baby! It was so great to finally see Sarah pregnant! We hadn't seen each other since Christmas. Sarah drove up from Louisiana with my cousin Ali for the weekend. It was so much fun spending time together and just relaxing. The three of us grew up together and I can't remember the last time just the three of us got to be together. Also, on Saturday our Aunt Martha and daughter McKayla drove down from Northwest Arkansas to join in the festivities! It was so great to spend time with them too.

Saturday we headed over to Monica's for the baby shower. They did such a great job! It was beautiful from the wreath with pacifiers hanging from it to the beautiful flowers and center piece with a little baby girl and baby boy in a baby carriage. They had a room set up for all of Barnes' gifts and a room set up for Parker's (Sarah's little girl) gifts with monogrammed balloons and baby cradles to put the gifts in. I think we had even more fun back at mom's going through all of our wonderful gifts. We are so fortunate to have wonderful friends and family!

Was 27 weeks on Sunday and still feeling great! I have my glucose test next Wednesday and have noticed more motion sickness and jet lag than usual but so far things are great.

25 Weeks

While LJ was in Nashville, I spent the weekend at home and went to a friend's baby shower. My friend Alison and I worked together at Dr. Grice's. She is due Sept 1st and is also having a boy.

Alison got a mobile at her shower that was super cute. So I found it online and it was a combination of all the things I was looking for. I wanted something that played music and not white noise and a light. This fit the bill and it is so cute! It even moves like puppets and later you can take it off the crib and still use it for the music.

Projects!

LJ and I are both working on some projects. We need to be focusing on the baby's room but instead LJ has just about finished the patio and I am knitting a "hooded carrying sack" for the baby.

Wednesday was the latest doctor's appointment - everything is looking great! I feel great and have my next appointment in 4 weeks.

24 weeks

Well on Sunday I was offically 6 months!! It is going by so fast! Still feeling great although I am still self-consious of my stomach. I also do not understand why other people want to touch it? What is the fasination with a pregnant women's belly!

LJ and I got a lot done this weekend. Some how LJ started tilling the back yard for grass (we have known because of the dogs and the fact there wasn't any when we moved in) and we ended up building a patio instead. So, we had some old cemet pavers where the dog house was when we moved in and we reused those, bought some more and whala a patio! I have to say it looks pretty good for a quick and easy "do it yourself" project. LJ finished it after work today before he headed to kickball practice.

Saturday night we headed to York, SC (where we got married) for a wedding. A friend of LJ's from church when he was young got married. I know it was nice for LJ to see some old friends - the reception was at the groom's parents house - out-doors! It was a little warm but cooled off once the sun started to set. The food was great but I was disappointed that we weren't able to stay for cake. That has been my favorite part recently.

Sunday evening LJ and I went to the Carolina v. Virginia Tech Regional Game with a group of friends. Somehow that was the only baseball game I made it to all year. We ended up picking up KFC and tailgating for an hour or so before the game. I don't know if I have ever eaten at KFC - like actually picking up a meal from there. Yum! Definitly good pregnancy food. Especially since I can't stand grilled chicken. Well Carolina won and we are playing Coastal Carolina this up coming weekend.

Memorial Day Weekend

LJ and I had a pretty low key Memorial Day weekend which was so nice. I have no pictures at 23 weeks but I am definitely showing more and more! Still feeling great and craving Krispy Kreme doughnuts and sourpunch straws from the gas station. Wish I was craving salads!!

Friday LJ was out with friends and I went to see Sex and the City 2 with a group of girls. It was fun to go to the movies even though the movie was nothing award winning it was cute and fun! Saturday we rented canoes with our friends Megan and Will and canoed down the the Saluda river. The weather was actually perfect and almost cool on the water. We made it off just in time to miss the rain. We ended up grilling out and taking it easy Saturday night. Sunday afternoon it rained and killed any outdoor activities. We spent the evening trying out a new resturant, Pearlz, in Columbia for a friends birthday. Monday was more rain and running errands. We are hoping the next holiday weekend will be full of sunshine and outdoor activities!

I am slowly getting registered for my showers, finding a daycare and a pediatrician. I can't believe how fast the time is going.
