22 weeks and Shopping with Mom

Well, my mom came in this past Thursday and left today. We had such a good time eating out and shopping. Thursday we shopped downtown Columbia on Devine Street and stopped at In the Loop (knit shop) - mom and I are both knitting for the babies. My mom is working on shorts for Barnes, and I am working on a "hooded sleep sack" - so cute!!

Friday - I was able to take off early. Mom and I found a sale! We found some adorable smocked outfits for Barnes and my sister's soon to be little girl - Parker. We met LJ at Babies R Us and ordered the crib and mattress (we couldn't resist the sale). We also "test-drove" a stroller and looked at all the other stuff, but we were a little overwhelmed. LJ and I are debating the rocker/gliders at the moment.

Saturday we drug LJ back out to test different rocker/gliders and then mom and I headed to Charlotte to continue shopping. LJ found a ticket for the baseball game and stayed in Columbia. Mom and I found some great deals!! We decided that both Baby Gap and Gymboree have some really cute clothes for boys and girls. Weren't impressed with some of the other stores we went into but were able to find some really cute things at Pottery Barn Kids to go with the nursery bedding that I got from my Aunt Lori! I feel like things are starting to come together - LJ and I have to work on the nursery. We are going to have to hire someone to drywall a few walls where we ripped out an old built in and then paint.

Last Weekend - Greenville Wedding

Last weekend LJ and I went to Greenville, SC for a Amber and Franz's wedding. Amber and I went to college together and are sorority sisters. It was so fun getting to see all of our friends that came in town for the festivities. I was still sick with a sinus infection and probably not much fun but I did make it out to see everyone Friday night and Saturday for a little while after the wedding.

LJ and I were both impressed with downtown Greenville. The wedding reception was on the water in a pavillion and even had a painter at the reception painting the scene -what a great idea!

We took several pictures - not a big fan of myself in pictures right now but I will post a few as I know I would rather look at someone's pictures than read! We also got to see our friend Stacy and her new condo! So excited she will be closer.

It's a Boy!!

Well...today was the day. We found out it is a boy. Our ultrasound took an hour and it was 45 minutes into the ultrasound before the tech would say what the sex of the baby was. He kept moving and wouldn't cooperate. I think LJ and I were both nervous as she was checking all of his stats.

So, Louis Barnitz "Barnes" Dragner is expected to arrive September 26th. Louis after LJ, his dad and his grandfather - all whose first names have been Louis, and Barnitz after my father.

Habitat for Humanity, Mother's Day, and 20 weeks

This weekend LJ and I spent Saturday working at a Habitat for Humanity House with a group from our church. Sunday after church, we headed to Charlotte with LJ's mom for lunch and some shopping; then stopped by to see LJ's sister, Katie, husband, Andy and our niece Lillyann.

At 20 weeks I'm feeling great! We are going to our next doctor's appointment tomorrow (3/10) where we get to find out the sex!!!!! I wish our appointment was early in the morning, but unfortunately we are at the end of the day. We are still trying to figure out how we want to share the news with everyone. We are going to call my parents and sister and LJ's mom and sister, but we haven't decided about everyone else.

Cinco de Louie

This weekend we celebrated LJ's 29th Birthday (actually 5/3) which he has nicknamed "Cinco do Louie". We had our friends over Saturday for lunch and drinks and then headed to our neighborhood festival, the Rosewood Crawfish Festival. Yes, crawfish in SC. They have a guy from Louisiana come with the crawfish and cook them on site. They actually ended up running out early! I didn't try any this year... I could just smell them and taste how spicy they were. We were also so glad to have Tyler and Tracie come with Laney - her first trip to the Dragner's and her first Crawfish Festival.

This Sunday I am actually 19 weeks. According to the emails I get the baby is the size of a mango. I can't believe in one week I will be half there! And a week from Monday we find out the sex...no feelings one way or the other. I have actually had dreams that I was having a boy and dreams I was having a girl. So we will see. Yesterday we tried to come up with some creative ways to tell our friends what we are having although there were some great suggestions we haven't decided yet.

18 weeks and Ambers Bachelorette

Last weekend I went to Charleston for Amber's Bachelorette party. I had so much fun seeing everyone. Megan and I picked up Amber, her future sister-in-law, Dot, Laura and Jeanette from the Columbia airport and headed to Meredith's house on Sullivans. With a Mexican Fiesta at the house on Friday, a walk on the beach Saturday morning, a monogram shower Saturday afternoon we had a relaxing weekend before going out. Saturday nigth we headed downtown to Social and out for the evening. I did a pretty good job hanging with everyone till the last bar and from there decided I was ready to go home.

At 18 weeks I am feeling much better! Very little nausea just some headaches and slowly getting some energy back. I think I am finally "starting to show". Its like I woke up friday morning and there it was.
